Custom OpenCart–1C integration API

Project brief

Connect the storefront and accounting system through controlled JSON endpoints, support updates across all key entities and keep integration logic separate from public storefront controllers.

What was delivered

• dedicated JSON API controllers for categories, products, customers and orders
• API authentication and request restrictions by allowlisted IP addresses
• category creation, update and deletion with GUID mapping
• product, price, promotion, image and availability updates
• inventory across Moscow, Germany and in-transit stock with aggregate quantity calculation
• product relationships for accessories, alternatives, compatibility and related items
• customer creation, update and deletion, including customer groups and subscriptions
• export of new and verified customers to 1C
• order export with line items, addresses and history, plus reverse status synchronisation
• a unified GUID model for bidirectional OpenCart–1C exchange

My role

Designed and developed the custom OpenCart API, 1C exchange models, GUID-based entity mapping and synchronisation workflows for catalog, customer and order data.

Outcome

OpenCart now participates fully in the accounting workflow: 1C controls catalog and inventory data, while customers and orders return with the required links and statuses.
