OpenVidu sports streaming management platform
Stream Hub required browser-based video publishing, an OpenVidu server and a WordPress control layer for sports, plans, users, broadcasts and viewing permissions.

Project brief
Build a managed live-streaming platform where a source can publish a camera or screen, viewers only access authorised broadcasts, and editors control the stream lifecycle from WordPress.
What was delivered
- browser publishing for a camera, screen, window or tab with camera and microphone selection
- source preview, shared-audio controls and publication start/stop controls
- OpenVidu token service validating signed permission, role and session scope
- separate publisher and subscriber connections with OpenVidu session creation
- WordPress module for sports, plans, service users, broadcasts and statuses
- viewer access checks based on the overlap between an active plan and the broadcast sport
- catalog filters by status and sport, with times displayed in the viewer’s timezone
- Nginx proxying for OpenVidu and WebSocket connections
My role
Developed the browser publisher, token service, WordPress broadcast management module and viewer catalog, and configured OpenVidu and WebSocket proxying.
Outcome
Delivered the complete workflow from source selection and stream publication through a managed broadcast catalog and per-viewer access verification.
